Wax mask

I remember the first time I depilate with wax - not shaved, because I always had thick hair, and shaving with Gillette would make my hair thicker - I was 10. I remember asking my mother to do it because I was hairier than the other girls of the same age as me. Later that day, I went to play in my street, as I was used to doing, and a boy saw me and asked why my legs were so red. I didn't answer because it would be admitting that I wasn't as "normal" as I was supposed to be. Since then, I have applied wax on my entire body once a month, let it dry, and rip it out of my skin. I have been doing it for 20 years. It's funny how I ended up using wax in my artwork later. The wax is present in my abstract painting, but when I use my face as a canvas, it becomes that everything I do is personal.
