Geological Series: A Composition of Abstractions
The artistic works displayed in this exhibition showcase the fascinating beauty of the intertwined layers that compose these paintings. Referred to as the "Geological Series," these pieces are a magnificent illustration of the relationship between material and the creative process. The organic, fluid shapes created by the combination of paint and wax exposed to heat bring to mind geological wonders such as volcanic eruptions and impact craters.
The strong shades of blue, pink, and gold give the canvases a dreamy, otherworldly quality, like glimpses into a celestial landscape. Despite their abstract nature, created by the interplay of ink, wax, and paraffin, which accumulate into bubbles or spread thinly, these interaction has the power to create a clear definition inside the viewer's mind.
As onlookers, we are captivated by the ability to recognize patterns and images within the chaos of the abstract forms. Our minds are activated, perceiving familiar shapes in the smoke of a hot drink or the clouds in the sky. This formless paint, this meaningless abstraction, and this vivid concentration of color all serve to increase our appreciation for the aesthetics.
In this exhibition, the artist invites us to embrace the formless, to bask in the abstract, and to experience the knowledge within the intangible in a composition of these formless abstractions.
